City of Virginia Beach

BaCo was awarded the Cabling Services Contract for the City of Virginia Beach.  The contract was awarded on 7-29-05 and it expires on 8-31-15.  We are responsible for new voice and data installations, MAC orders, and Wireless and broadband installations.

BaCo provides personnel, tools, and project management for the installation of all telecommunication and data cables in the City of Virginia Beach. The installation of telecommunication cabling within the CoVB for the following types of cable:  Category 5e Category 6, Fiber Optic all types; Coaxial (RG-6/11 for CATV); Low Voltage (public address, intercom, and security systems); various counts of multi-pair Riser; various counts of Outside Plant and Outside Plant Fiber In addition to cable placement and termination, BaCo installs backboards, equipment cabinets and complete build out and upkeep of telecommunication closets.  Testing of all types of cable plant includes:  fiber optic cable tests; and Category 5, 6 and Category 3 cable, CATV / CCTV tests for continuity, opens, shorts, and crossed pairs.

Major new construction projects were being performed at the same time, Some include new fire stations, Police stations, Economic Development, and several Municipal Center buildings. Bazon’s major tasks also include juvenile centers and correctional jails. Bazon has worked to install for the City of VB miles of underground pathways. This includes various sizes of pipe and vaults. Bazon has also been tasked with several aerial projects some including installs in tourist areas where safety and traffic had to be closely monitored.

The City of Virginia Beach occupies an estimated 80 plus separate addresses; ten locations house more than one department at the same address. A Municipal Center campus, with approximately 30 buildings, is located near the geographic center of the area. Historical Houses, along with other administrative agencies. The court system and related municipal and state departments are also located at the Municipal Center. The remaining City locations most often house a single department or division.

Bazon provides a ready “as required”, fixed source for Telecommunications cabling and for all agencies and activities of the City of Virginia Beach, and is used as a primary source for all low voltage needs. Bazon-Cox is responsible for turnkey voice, data, and major outside cabling services as required by the City of Virginia Beach. Bazon-Cox is also responsible for all labor and materials. Typical work includes but is not limited to, cabling for single workstations, retrofitting existing City of Virginia Beach offices for high-speed data applications, wiring a new multi-story building during construction and build-out phases, conduit, and fiber/or copper installation between the City’s remote sites.

FBI Knoxville, TN

BaCo was the lead for the Knoxville, TN field office. We managed manpower & coordinated with the EPS Corporation & FBI representative for tasking and scheduling.  We installed fiber optic cables for the SCION, UNET, and FBINET networks with roughly 1500 workstations.   All fiber optic cable for each network was terminated with TE LC keyed connectors.  We installed a total of 9000 LC TE light crimp connectors.  We also built out the communication room installing 4 post cabinets and a ladder rack above each one.

Virginia Beach Public Schools

BaCo was awarded the Cabling Services Contract for the Virginia Beach Public Schools.  The contract was awarded on 7-1-04 and it expires on 6-30-14. We were just awarded the Virginia Beach Public Schools cabling contract for our third 5-year term starting on 7-1-14 and expiring on 6-30-19  We are responsible for new voice and data installations, MAC orders, Wireless and broadband installations.

Army Mission Control Center (MCC USAREUR) Wiesbaden, Germany

USAREUR (US Army Europe) has standardized the Interceptor/CyberSecure PDS solution. BaCo is the engineering and PMO (Project Manager Officer) on the entire rollout of the theater. The MCC facility is the head end location for the 5th signal to manage the PDS on the entire theater. This install includes (7) Interceptor Units, CyberSecure and Stop‐Lights. MCC is a 4 story facility with PDS protection on every floor. BaCo is also responsible for all PDS plans, SOP Development, and Alarm Response write-ups. Approving Authority: Army CTTA

Lockheed Martin Space Command Littleton, CO

VET/BaCo obtains a “Sole Source” contract with the Littleton Lockheed Space Campus for all Alarmed PDS. Our deployments at this campus include both Inside Plant and Outside Plant applications.

RAND Corp HQ Santa Monica, CA

VET/BaCo obtains a “Sole Source” contract with the Rand Corporation Head Quarters Campus for all Alarmed PDS. Our deployments at this campus include both Inside Plant and Outside Plant applications. RAND Installs include Interceptor, CyberSecure, and Stop‐Lights. Approving Authority: DSS, ARMY CTTA
